We are a group of community members dedicated to supporting the Oostburg Public Library through fundraising, volunteer support and community events.

What We Do

FundraiseThe Friends oversee various fundraising events and opportunities, including the Annual Book Sale, the Spring Brat Fry, and Seasonal Bake Sales.

Support the LibraryThe Friends help fund new collections, additional materials, and upgrades to the library that fall outside of the library's regular budget.

Sponsor EventsThe Friends fund the Summer Reading Program, Author Visits, and other Special Events throughout the year

Summer Reading ProgramThe Friends are the main source of funding for our Summer Reading Program. Their contributions help us purchase the supplies we need, give out high quality rewards and prizes, and hire top notch performers. These contributions come together to form a memorable summer for people of all ages!

HooplaBy the end of 2023, the cost of Hoopla was putting a major strain on the Library budget. The Friends stepped in and took over payments. This allowed us to continue providing our patrons access to Hoopla's collection of audio books, ebooks, movies, and music.

New Library WebsiteThe website you're on right now was paid for by the Friends! It launched in May of 2024.

Children's Audio CollectionIn the Summer of 2023, the Friends donated the funds needed to kick-start a new Children's Audio Collection. This continuously growing collection of Playaway Audio Books and VOX Books have grown to be favorites among our younger patrons (and their parents!)
